Review — Is AI Engineering Bootcamp by Newline Worth It

Hello guys, right now we are in AI mad rush, I am not talking about the AI models coming every week but a lot of people who wants to learn AI skills at any cost to maximize their chances of being at right time at the right place.

That’s actually a good strategy and AI is definitely a place where money and growth is and by all means you should learn and improve your AI skills as much as possible but at the same time choosing the right resource is very important and if you are not careful, you may lose a lot of your money, time and energy without gaining much.

If you want to learn AI and looking for online resources then you have come to the right place. Earlier, I have shared best AI engineering books and courses and today, I am going to share a premium AI Bootcamp training program which can take you from Software Engineer to AI Engineer.

Yes, I am talking about the AI Bootcamp by Newline, which offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience, you will learn practical skills from from building LLMs to launching AI startups.

The curriculum is highly project-focused. You’ll work on building and deploying LLMs, adapting models with RAG and fine-tuning, and applying AI to real-world use cases, ensuring practical experience and a portfolio of projects.

But at a high price point (typically around $9,800 for Bootcamp, is it truly worth the investment?

Let’s break it down.

What is this AI Engineering Bootcamp by NewLine?

I have known Newline as a company from quite sometime, precisely when I come across the Fullstack React with TypeScript Book, one of the most popular React and TypeScript books ever.

A few months ago, I was looking for a solid resource which can help me move beyond just using APIs and prompt engineering — I wanted to understand how to actually build AI systems from the ground up, like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning models, or even designing multi-modal AI pipelines.

That’s when I came across Newline’s AI Bootcamp. At first, I was skeptical. The price tag was high, and I wondered if it would really deliver something I couldn’t piece together with free YouTube tutorials or by reading research papers.

But curiosity got the better of me. I signed up for one of their free webinars, and that experience gave me a glimpse of what the bootcamp was about: depth, clarity, and practicality.

Here’s what stood out to me after digging deeper into the program:

  • It teaches the foundations of LLMs properly. Instead of just showing you how to use OpenAI’s API, the instructors break down how transformers work — autoregressive decoding, multi-head attention — and tie the theory directly to code.
  • The instructors are the real deal. People like Dr. Dipen, an AI researcher with publications in top-tier conferences, and Zao Yang, who built massive systems at scale, bring credibility and hands-on knowledge. It felt reassuring to learn from practitioners rather than generic instructors.
  • Hands-on projects everywhere. This is a fully hands-on course you will be building byte-level models, RAG systems, reinforcement learning with human feedback, and more. This wasn’t just slides and theory — it was doing the work.
  • Career-focused outcomes. They don’t shy away from promising real-world impact: consulting opportunities, six-figure AI roles, and even startup guidance. Whether that ROI pans out depends on the individual, but the framing is clear — this is about professional transformation, not just tinkering.

It’s also very comprehensive as you can see from its curriculum below, you will learn Agentic AI, Prompt Engineering, LLM and more:

But I also had to weigh the flip side:

  • The price is steepAround $9,800 . That’s not a decision you make lightly.
  • The time commitment is real. Weekly live sessions plus coding labs meant I’d have to carve out 5–7 hours every week on top of my day job.
  • Public reviews are limited. Aside from glowing testimonials on their site, there aren’t many independent voices out there.

Though, if you are looking for a bootcamp style course to learn AI Engineering in depth, this is a great resource to join. While the price may seems high but if you compare the value it provides, its nothing.

If you learn AI skills and become an AI Engineer then you most likely get a jump from 30 to 50% in your salary and comparing to that, this investment is nothing.

Who This Bootcamp Is For?

Newline’s AI Bootcamp is tailored for technological professionals such as:

  • Software Engineers implementing RAG or fine-tuned AI systems.
  • Software Developers building custom foundational models within specialized domains.
  • Individuals looking to offer AI consulting or launch AI-driven startups.
  • Practitioners moving beyond prompt engineering into full-stack AI systems engineering .

Basic Python knowledge is helpful but not strictly required. All live and recorded sessions are offered with flexible scheduling to support working professionals.

Though, I recommend you to first learn Python before joining this bootcamp or learning along the way, if you know Python, you can get better value from this bootcamp.

If you are a complete beginner then I suggest you to start with Angela Yu’s 100 Days of Code: The Complete Python Pro Bootcamp for 2025 but if you already know bit of Python then Python for Everybody Specialization at Coursera is a better choice for deeper study.

By the way, you would need Coursera Plus subscription to watch this course, which provides you unlimited access to their most popular courses, specialization, professional certificate, and guided projects.

Drawbacks to Consider

While the AI Engineering Bootcamp from Newline is a great resources, there are still few things you need to consider before you join this course:

  • High Price Tag
With costs ranging from $5,000 to nearly $10,000, this isn’t light spending. Prospective students must weigh whether the depth and exclusivity of the content justify the investment.
  • Intensity and Time Investment
Expect to dedicate around 3 hours per week for lectures and live sessions, plus 2–4 hours for coding and hands-on labs, not including time for projects.

But, if you are committed to make a career as AI Engineer then this is also the best program you can join online.

Most of the AI courses I have taken are shallow or doesn’t teach you practical skills like building AI agents but this bootcamp will teach you all that.

I highly recommend this AI Bootcamp to everyone who can afford this.

So, is AI Engineering Bootcamp at Newline worth it?

If you’re already working as an engineer or developer and you want to transition into serious AI engineering work — building systems, not just prompts — this bootcamp is one of the few structured, guided paths out there.

It’s not for beginners, and it’s not for people just curious about AI.

It’s for those ready to invest both time and money into a skillset that could reshape their career.

Personally, I walked away from the webinar convinced that if I was serious about AI engineering as a long-term path, this kind of investment might pay off.

The question is whether you’re at that stage in your journey. If you got the conviction to get into AI Engineering field, this is probably the best resource you can get at this point of time.

It’s a unique opportunity also because right now demand of AI Engineer is more than the supply and that’s why they command much higher salary than a typical Software engineer.

AI engineers in the USA earn an average salary of $120,000–$200,000 annually, depending on their expertise and experience and completing this bootcamp can increase your earning potential by $50,000 annually.

Considering all this, I think AI Engineering Bootcamp on Newline is definitely worth the investment.

A good thing about this course is that you may be able to get a reimbursement from your company.

Final Verdict

That’s all in this review of AI Engineering Bootcamp on Newline. If you’re looking to move beyond basic AI workflows and build complex, production-ready AI systems — with direct guidance from seasoned experts and a practical, project-first curriculum — Newline’s AI Bootcamp is a compelling choice.

With Dipen and Zao’s guidance, you’ll gain practical insights into building and deploying advanced AI models, preparing you for the most challenging and rewarding roles in the AI field.

Just be aware that it comes with a premium price and requires serious time commitment.
